Keefer: Big Baller!!!

Authentic, delicious, and a great value…expect nothing less"

Phil Ritchie, Innkeeper

Built as a principal family residence 122 years ago, the Keefer Mansion is a Niagara Region landmark. Second only to the home of William Hamilton Merritt, it is the most important residence connected to the development of the Welland Canal.

The Keefers went on to become Canada's most important engineering dynasty, planning and directing the building of our railways, bridges, water & sewer works, the Welland Canal and our nation's new Parliament. The history of the Keefer family and the development of early Canada is nothing less than amazing.

The 9,000 sq ft mansion now owned by the City of Thorold, has been restored over 3 years to reflect the "privileged life" of its prosperous builders. As all inn travelers know...the rich history and charm of staying at a beautiful inn is truly special.
